Virtual School Visits Bring us Close Together

Oh, the wonders of technology! If you have a classroom full of curious, avid students or are a librarian, a book club organizer, or a homeschool group coordinator, technology can take you all around the world in a matter of minutes.

I'm Mariana Llanos and I'm the author of five children's books. I travel through the world doing virtual school visits! My visits are available in English and Spanish.

Setting up a virtual school visit is easy, accessible and affordable! Only $30 per visit! Visit my website www.marianallanos.com for the Paypal button.

You'll only need a group of kids, a computer with a monitor and a high speed connection. My visits are available through Skype, but we could meet on Google+ as well.
IN-PERSON visits are available in Oklahoma City for an affordable fee.

SCHOOLS IN THE USA:
  • Teachers print and distribute book order forms among students (they are not obligated to buy, but it would be nice). We'll coordinate the details via email. On my visit, I'll read and talk to your class. Visit time 30-45 minutes, depending of grade level. I'll do my best to encourage your students to write, read and be creative! Please visit my website www.marianallanos.com to learn more about my books and to download instructions and book order forms.
SCHOOLS OUTSIDE THE USA:
  • Please download my book (s) from the Kindle store and read with your class. Previous email coordination, we'll meet for thirty minutes and discuss my book, the writing and publishing process. I'll do my best to encourage your students to write and read and think outside the box! Visit my website www.marianallanos.com for more about my books. Contact me maarfand@hotmail.com

These are my lessons:

  • NEED and WANTS (Social studies unit for 1st-2nd grade): Listen to The Wanting Monster and learn about Andy's wants and needs.
  • A World of Imagination (3rd grade through 6th) Listen to the first story on the Tristan Wolf series. Have your questions about writing, editing and publishing ready.
  • Compassion and Loss: Author's insight (Recommended for 5th and 6th grades.) After reading The Staircase on Pine Street in class, hear me read the first chapter and I'll answer all the questions you have about the book, its theme, characters, writing process and research. *only for the USA, UK and wherever in Europe the Paperback book is available.

Some of my books are also available in Spanish! I would love to visit an immersion school or visit with a group of Spanish-language learners.
My lessons are also available on Education Skype.
